Flat roofs are a completely different animal compared to pitched roofs. The margin for error is smaller, the materials are different, and the installation process has to be done right or you will end up with leaks, pooling water, and a headache that only gets worse over time.
Here we are mid-install on a glue-down EPDM roofing system. EPDM - a synthetic rubber membrane - is one of the most reliable flat roofing materials available. When it is installed correctly with a full adhesive bond, it creates a watertight seal that holds up well against the elements. The rolling process you see here is critical. Both sides of the membrane get rolled firmly to press out any air and ensure the adhesive bonds evenly across the entire surface.
This particular home has a flat roof attachment, which is common in the Atlanta area. These sections require careful attention where the flat roof meets the vertical wall of the house. That transition point is where a lot of flat roofs fail when the work is rushed or done by someone without experience in this type of system.
We take every step seriously - from surface prep, to adhesive application, to the final roll. No shortcuts. Whether it is a residential flat roof addition or a full commercial roofing job, the process is the same. Every detail matters for a seal that actually holds long-term.
